Hello 2019! The Year of Renewal!
As we prepare to enter a new year, I wanted to share with you all a few rituals I’ve picked up over the years from various mentors. A new year is all about cleaning the slate and creating space for unexpected blessings and growth.
But all of that starts with how we treat ourselves. How we love ourselves reflects how we love others. And in today’s busy world, self-love takes effort, time, and ritual most of us are too busy to create space for. My personal favorites in terms of tips and tricks I’ve picked over the years from various mentors are as follows:
#1: REFLECT
Now is the perfect time to reflect on the past year. I look at areas of success, including goals I’ve accomplished, and I take some time to acknowledge and celebrate these victories before moving forward and creating new goals.
#2: RECOGNIZE
We all faced challenges during the past year. I’ve experienced a lot, both personally and in business. Taking space to see where things didn’t go as planned or I didn’t get what I intended allows me to see what I’ve learned and how I’ve grown or pinpoint areas I need to work on.
#3 CREATE
When in doubt, do. I'll be the first to admit that it’s a motto that isn't always easy to live by when everything feels like its crashing down. But here's the point: when you feel overwhelmed, do something. Go for walk. Try a new activity. Read a few pages in a new book. Just do something. I love creating, doing, experiencing, and knowing the roots of what I DO - feeds the accomplishments I seek to realize in the coming year.
We can often get stuck in a mode of analyzing why. I find creating usually figures out the why - it’s the natural process of our mind, body, and spirit working in conjunction in a mindful activity that takes out of the need for understanding WHY to accepting what is that brings a certain kind of peace and lasting love-energy I can share with all the people I encounter in my daily life.
What about you? What are your favorite rituals or practices you're super excited about or want to share? Chime in - and comment and let’s keep the conversation going into 2019!
